Rob Wilson, Lead Pastor
Rob grew up in Spokane, WA. He completed his undergraduate in Psychology from Whitworth University where he met his wife Barbara, who has a degree in Spanish Language and Literature. After college Rob served as the Director of Youth and Family Ministries at Grace Presbyterian Church in Littleton, CO. During this time, Barbara worked at Denver Public Schools. Rob then completed his seminary work at Louisville Seminary in Louisville, KY. For more than 20 years Rob has served as an ordained Presbyterian minister as the lead pastor in two congregations.
Rob and Barbara love small town life and believe Poulsbo has been a wonderful place to make home. Rob was attracted to North Point when he viewed our ministry information online. He is committed to keeping Christ at the center of our lives, focused on shared values, and seeking out the Spirit’s leading in how to serve and love our community. He is passionate about leading the effort to build a healthy church community which embraces the journey God is leading us on. What most excites Rob about North Point is our shared values, the faithfulness it takes to begin a new season of ministry and our strategic location for serving the community with Christ’s love.
Rob and Barbara are parents of four grown children who are grown and live as far away as Tennessee and as close as Poulsbo. A daughter-in-law was proudly added to the Wilson family several years ago.
Rob continues to have a special heart for his roots in youth ministry. He is a regular speaker at Middle School and High School retreats including Camp Spalding , Vail Christian High School Retreat, and “RestFest”.
Rob has served as the Moderator of Denver Presbytery, been on their Committee on Ministry, Presbytery Council, and other work groups. He has travelled to Zimbabwe with a Denver Presbytery delegation as they partnered in mission with the Presbytery of Zimbabwe. He has also served on non-profit boards such as Vail Valley Cares and Habitat for Humanity. In addition, he is a strong advocate of building relationships with other pastors in the community. He also enjoys coaching soccer and especially soccer goalkeepers.
Personally, Rob loves spending time with his wife and family, is a passionate supporter of the Arsenal Football Club, and strives to be as good a reader as his wife Barbara. Rob enjoys training and competing in triathlons, both long and short. His two longest triathlons have been when he completed Ironman Coeur d’Alene in 2005 and 2010 (both of which, he has promised his wife, would be his last Ironman distance triathlon!). In recent years, he has taken up mountain biking and is always up for a new athletic adventure.
