Children’s Ministries Director
August 2023


General Description
In collaboration with parents and church leadership, encourage the spiritual growth and development of the children of North Point Church (NPC) and the wider community. Equipping children to begin a lifelong faith journey. This position reports to the Lead Pastor and the Session.

Requirements
Minimum : 6 months (continuous or accrued) experience working with Children in either a paid or volunteer capacity.
Preferred: Degree or coursework in Education or professional experience with Children in a church or para-church organization.

General Expectations 
  1. Regularly spends time in prayer, bible study, and personal discipleship. 
  2. Actively builds relationships with NPC congregation and the greater community. 
  3. Adheres to the NPC bylaws, policies, and statement of faith with a lifestyle that exhibits a life of Christ centeredness and reformed theology. 
  4. Faithfully assembles with NPC in worship and is actively engaged in the life of NPC. 
  5. Committed to being a good steward of the resources entrusted to them. 
  6. Encourages and collaborates with other staff members. 
  7. Engages in ongoing education and training related to their area of ministry. 8. Required to submit to a background check before employment and every two years. Audit all volunteer safety training and background checks on a yearly basis to verify all certifications are up to date. 

Responsibilities 
  1. Pursue the discipleship of children in the church, and their further integration into the fellowship by providing administrative leadership, direction and pastoral care within a warm, friendly learning environment. 
  2. Recruit, train, and supervise a team of NPC volunteers to provide Christian Education and events that contribute to the life of NPC.
  3. Ability to work with volunteers: recruit, encourage, organize, and direct a team. 
  4. Recruit, train, and supervise Nursery Staff and coordinate scheduling for Sunday services and special events. 
  5. Develop and implement appropriate programs that serve the needs of children within the church and foster spiritual growth. 
  6. Select and/or develop Biblical curriculum and teaching, in coordination with the Director of Youth Ministry, to provide a consistent Christian foundation for NPC's children and youth. 
  7. Work with other ministries in the church to foster outreach and discipleship programs. 
  8. Oversee the Children’s Ministry budget, including submission of monthly spending reports to the Church Treasurer and budget requests to the Church Finance Team.
  9. Keep the congregation and community informed of children’s ministry programs, events, and activities, including maintaining and updating the NPC children's ministry website information. 
  10. Coordinate and maintain health and safety protocols for children’s ministry. Required to have and maintain CPR certification and Basic First Aid. 
  11. Complete child safety and sexual misconduct prevention training every 2 years and comply with relevant North Point Church policies.
  12. Fulfill other duties, as assigned by the Lead Pastor. 

Compensation and Reviews: 
This is a 20 hour position and includes only those benefits required by Washington state law. Performance reviews will be conducted annually by the Pastor and Session.
Youth Ministries Director

General Description
To serve the middle and high school students of North Point Church (NPC), Kitsap County and their parents through building relationships and administering programs directed at their growth as followers of Jesus. This position reports to the Lead Pastor and the Session.

Responsibilities 
  1. Non ministerial responsibilities, but with religious qualifications and responsibilities to provide spiritual guidance and service to other staff, team members, and members of the congregation to provide a consistent public Christian witness. 
  2. Build an intergenerational ministry team, including adults and mature teens from NPC to disciple the Middle and High School Students. Provide timely and clear communication to volunteers, parents, and the congregation. 
  3. Select and/or develop Biblical curriculum and teaching, in coordination with the Director of Children's Ministry, to provide a consistent Christian foundation for NPC's children and youth. 
  4. Oversee the Student Ministry budget, including submission of monthly spending reports to the Church Treasurer and budget requests to the Church Finance Team. 
  5. Participate in weekly staff meetings, worship, and ministry along with the church family at NPC. 
  6. Develop relationships with other youth leaders and para-church organizations within the community. Establish and maintain outreach and ministry programs, coordinating with other youth organizations, as needed. 
  7. Complete child safety and sexual misconduct prevention training every 2 years and comply with relevant North Point Church policies.
  8. Coordinate and maintain health and safety protocols for youth ministry. Required to have and maintain CPR certification and Basic First Aid. 
  9. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor.
